Ato Indígena

Hoje foi a vez dos índios Guaraní Kaiwoaá dominar a Av. Paulista, numa manifestação que teve como pauta a conservação da natureza e do meio ambiente, o fim do genocídio indígena, pela demarcação de terras, entre outros. Os índios saíram do vão livre do MASP e desceram pela Av. Brigadeiro Luis Antonio, até a praça onde está o monumento às bandeiras. Adeptos da tática Black Bloc também compareceram.

Today was the turn of the Guaraní-Kaiwoaá indians to dominate the Paulista Av., in a demonstration that had as theme the nature and environment conservation, the end of indigenous genocide, the demarcation of lands, among others. The Indians came out of the clearance area under the MASP and moved down toward the Brigadeiro Luis Antonio Av., heading the Pioneers’ Monument. Fans of the Black Bloc tactic has also attended the protest.

Lá, ficaram cantando e posando pra fotos. Uma faixa vermelha foi estirada sobre o monumento, a qual representou o sangue do povo indígena derramado na conquista territorial nos séculos passados. Houve também outros que jogaram tinta vermelha no monumento. Foram colados cartazes nos postes em repudio aos bandeirantes. Ao final, os índios fizeram um discurso em apelo à defesa do meio ambiente e também pelo respeito entre as pessoas. Assista ao vídeo do ato:

Once there, were singing and posing for photos. A red band was stretched over the monument, representing the blood of indigenous people poured into the territorial conquest in past centuries. There were also others who threw red paint on the monument. Posters were pasted on poles in repudiation to the pioneers. At the end, the Indians made a speech in call to protect the environment and also in respect among people. Watch the video of the act:

Eu não fiquei até o fim do ato, mas pelo que soube depois haviam pichado o monumento às bandeiras com tinta vermelha.

I did not stay until the end of the act, but from what I later learned, the Indians had spray-painted the monument to the flags with red paint.
